Welcome to the 2 Bar C Ranch website and 2 Bar C Cattle Company. Our ranch headquarters is located at 17968 FM 1322 in Luling, Texas, just 45 minutes south of Austin, Texas.

The objective of our website is to inform you of our history, herd development, genetic performance data and guarantees. Please feel free to give us a call at any time to set up a tour of the ranch and cattle we have for sale.

Having been in the commercial cattle business since the early 60’s in Gonzales, Texas, I had the opportunity to lease 1,000 acres in the Texas Hill Country in the Mid 80’s west of Austin, Texas. I wanted to give my son Chris the experience of raising cattle and the values that are instilled by hard work and dedication required to fulfill that task.

By the mid 90’s we began to purchase land in Caldwell County Texas, just outside of Luling, Texas. My wife Karen and I moved to the ranch from Austin in June of 2008. Our son Chris, his wife Maja, our granddaughter Ili and grandson Riley moved to the ranch in 2009. Chris manages the day to day operations on the ranch. Ili and Riley attend San Marcos Baptist Academy.

In the late spring of 2019, our daughter Kimberley, her husband Jason and our granddaughter Emma will be moving to the ranch. Emma will be attending Texas Lutheran University in the fall on a music scholarship.

We began site work on our ranch Sales and Marketing Center in January of 2019. Our first ranch production sale is scheduled for December 7, 2019.

2 Bar C Ranch started our Angus business in 2002 with 15 heifers purchased for BB Cattle Company in Connell, Washington. Over the years we have been fortunate to have purchased cattle from some of the top Angus Breeders around the country. Please take some time to review the pedigrees of our donors and EPD’s on the herd sires we are using in our program.

The 2 Bar C Ranch breeding program has focused on developing calving ease genetics with tremendous acceleration in weight gain weaning while achieving top performance in the feedlot. In 2016 we began putting about 50% of our bulls on a GrowSafe program. In 2018 we began putting 100% of our bulls into the program.

What is GrowSafe and why is that important for us and you? The GrowSafe program gives us individual data on each animal by measuring their daily intake and weight gain. The data gathered allows us and you to select more efficient genetic performance. Better feed efficiency puts more dollars in your pocket.

In 2019, 2 Bar C expects to achieve 225 pregnancies from our embryo transfer program, 125 AI pregnancies and 75 pregnancies from our herd sires.
